Oregon PSM

Advanced Scientific and Technical Writing (PSM 525) will be offered for the first time at Oregon State University during winter and spring terms 2012 as a 4-credit online class. The class will be cross-listed as WR 525 and will be based in the English Department. Instruction will combine scientific and technical writing with science journalism. Students will draw on a data set to draft a scientific journal article, short grant proposal, magazine article, and letter of inquiry. PSM students are expected to register for the class after completing their internships when they can work on their final report, which can serve as one of the class projects. Good writing skills are critical, and this class will be an excellent elective option for PSM students as well as individuals completing the Graduate Certificate in Management for Science Professionals.
